Saturday evening will see Juventus host Napoli in Serie A at the Juventus Stadium in a clash which could shape the destination of this season’s Scudetto, with Bianconeri legend Alessandro Del Piero admitting the Partenopei have what it takes to overcome the current champions.

Since Maurizio Sarri took over from Rafael Benitez during the summer, the Azzurri have found the right blend of defence and attack under the former Empoli coach to leave his squad two points above Massimiliano Allegri’s squad going in to the game, something Del Piero is acutely aware of.

“I believe that Napoli today, under Sarri, is a Naples team that has found its defensive identity,” Del Piero told Sky Sport Italia.

“They now possess compactness and it has allowed them to improve in attacking areas, with Gonzalo Higuain scoring in most of their games, supported by the impressive Marek Hamsik.

“I hope that with this match will confirm just how good these two teams are. It is important for Napoli not to focus on the idea they are playing in a decisive match against Juventus, because otherwise an emotional component can enter their minds and can affect some players, especially away from home.”

The Azzurri will have to keep Argentine sensation Paulo Dybala quiet if they are to remain top of the pile at the end of Saturday’s mouth-watering tie, a feat the 41-year-old believes is easier said than done as he can change a game with his quality.

“I think Dybala is the perfect example of what Juventus are this year,” he added. “The moment Juve found a certain continuity with Dybala, they began to turn a corner, then they put a series of victories together to climb the league table.

“Beyond the technical qualities that we knew Dybala had and that were on display in Palermo, he has shown the qualities required to be able to transform a team.”
