| West Ham striker Simone Zaza believes the clause in his loan deal which makes the move permanent from Juventus after 14 appearances should be scrapped, according to the Sun.
A source close to the Hammers told the newspaper that Zaza feels he is playing under too much pressure to perform, and that the transfer clause has caused him major problems since his arrival from Juventus in the summer.
Zaza has played 8 league games, and ten matches in all competitions. It is reported that only the eight league matches actually count towards the 14 required appearances so far. That will all change tonight, the Sun reports, as the latter stages of the EFL Cup were also included in the appearance clause agreement.
Manager Slaven Bilic is intent on continuing to play the 25 year old but the closer he gets to triggering the €20million permanent transfer without scoring, the more concerned West Ham will get.
The Hammers are trying to persuade Juventus to scrap the clause both for Zaza’s sake and also so they can avoid making payment. If they are unsuccessful though, they may opt to offload him in the January transfer window with both Napoli and Valencia believed to be interested in the player.
